Ok, I’m doing mask now. HAHAHA. I know you gonna say that I’m vain or whatsoever to do mask. But then, sometimes guys do need to pamper themselves with such things too! Hehehe.
Anyhow, went town today as all lesson were canceled. Slept pretty late last night as I was drown in PHP and couldn’t sleep due to bad dreams from Dreamweaver. ==” Woke up pretty late and watched Crayon Shinchan. Hahaha! Lifeless me. But went out in the late afternoon to visit the new shopping centres that opened recently such as Ion and Orchard Central.

Which one looked more attractive to you? Personally I felt that the latter looked so much nicer and kinda interesting but the fact is that, don’t judge a book by it’s cover. It’s true that the Orchard Central looked nicer in both exterior and interior due to the designs. But honestly, the design made it kinda useless and inconvenient to shop in the Central. The place itself is so big and the structure inside made it like a maze. Literally a maze. You’ve got to turn at every corner to check out what they have over there, there, here , there and there. Too many places to check out then you will get irritated because you will feel that you are lost. Most of the shops are still not ready yet and I don’t know how I should put it but just, the organization and layout of the shopping is just kinda weird.
And for Ion, it’s big but on the other hand, it’s small. Hahaha! Contradicting? Nope, I can explain what I mean. Yes, from the exterior you can see that it’s really big and it has got many levels. From Basement 4 to Level 4 but the thing is, they go by price range just like when you shop online, they list their products by price. From the lower end to the higher end ones.
All the way down to B4, it’s shops like Muji, Fox, NET, Wastons blah blah blah and the usual dining and gourmet area. Which kinda considered the cheaper range. Then to B3, Fila, 77th Street, Topman, Uniqlo and so on. B2, River Island, Pull & Bear, Zara, Mango, Chomel, Fossil and so one.
Come to Level 1 and above, it’s a considered the higher end ones. Cartier, Prada, Rolex, TAG Heuer, LV and many more, with these few you can already see what is the price range like.
Level 2, Cartier again, Christian Dior, TWG, Burberry, IWC, Vertu, Prada and so on.
Level 3, this level contains more of the ‘Unique’ Brands that are seldom heard. Eg, Custo, enVie de Pois, Anteprima, Opera Gallery, PROOF living and many more.
Level 4, Aesthetic Bay, Alessi, Das Erzgebirge, Prints, Sony Gallery, Singapore Airline and so on.
Can you see the flow? The flow from the cheap cheap stuff to the expensive ones. I mean, these might be just how I felt but serious, it just look that way and it portraits that kind of impression that you are cheap, you go down, you are expensive you go up. Blah. Whatever it is, it’s just another shopping centre similar to Ngee Ann City the difference is that for NAC they’ve got different towers and Ion is just one building itself.
Of course, people like us who live through small income will definitely go to the basements. Yet at the basement, there are so many shops and the place turned out to be so crowded. If you compare all the 4 basements to all the 4 top levels, shops are so close together and much smaller. Obviously I cannot compare an Abalone to a peanut right? Both are still food but the size and price is like Heaven and Earth. Come on, you are squeezing all the shops together which will attract majority of the average income crowd and giving so little space for movements. How do you expect the customers to shop comfortably?
Right here, you are again trying to portrait that you are more concern about the high-end shoppers than the low-end ones. Yes, you need to give priorities to those who spend more money in your shopping centre. But with many low-end shoppers, it can add up to 1 high-end shopper which might allow you to earn faster. Thus, this is what I meant by it’s big yet it’s small. Be it the shops or the dining area, it’s crowded and the small area made it worse.
Anyway anyhow, it’s still worth to take a look because I think it’s still considered a big hoohaa for it’s opening. They’ve got quite a number of store which are either largest in Asia or largest in Singapore. For example, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Sephora. Yada yada, enough of shopping stuff.
